Pete Cotterill succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 19th playminute. Luke Newlyn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 46 minutes Verwood's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brendon Parks who took care of the corner kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
