Frank Caine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Porter in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Eddy Boyd dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Frank Caine, 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Harleston's Sebastien Steadman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Caine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Eddy Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Frank Caine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Harleston getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Francis Routledge hit a great ball. Dave Porter kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Mean Machine F.C. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. George Tisdale hit a great ball. Jack Weeks, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Harleston's Sebastien Steadman got a free kick in the 25th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastien Steadman got free with Frank Caine in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Darryl Dickens might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reg Christensen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darryl Dickens ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eddy Boyd was the one to do the kick off. Theo Turk succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. 64 minutes into the match, Sebastien Steadman notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Mean Machine F.C.'s Frank Caine. Frank Caine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Roy Morris helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Dave Starr took a quick shot and it went in 4-3 without a chance for Reg Christensen to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Harleston's Reg Christensen got control of the ball when Theo Turk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Caine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastien Steadman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Mean Machine F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Olly Weston. In the 91st minute of the match Jack Weeks shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Caine showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Olly Weston hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Harleston's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
