With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reggie Higgins in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Justin Fry saved Canvey Island from getting behind. Unia Tarnow's Jon Johnstone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Unia Tarnow from getting a goal against them. Lloyd Fry was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie Higgins in the 46th minute of play forced Canvey Island's goalkeeper Justin Fry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anthony Byrom charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Canvey Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidney Dennison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
