Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zane Thompson kicked off to start the match. Ray Alsford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antony Dothery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barney Winship in the 6th minute of play forced Budleigh Salterton's goalkeeper Ray Alsford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barney Winship scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ray Alsford, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute, Barney Winship hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ray Alsford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denis Philpott went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 21 minutes into the game, Carl Beckford cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Donald Calder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mbenghis's Donald Calder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trev Ash in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Budleigh Salterton's Jordan Budge got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute Zane Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Calder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mbenghis's Donald Calder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Mbenghis from getting a goal against them. In the 36th minute, Denis Philpott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Philpott's late challenge caught a Budleigh Salterton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Philpott helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mbenghis getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Graeme Patterson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trev Ash in the 44th minute of play forced Mbenghis's goalkeeper Donald Calder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mbenghis's Donald Calder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Mbenghis from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barney Winship in the 47th minute of play forced Budleigh Salterton's goalkeeper Ray Alsford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Mbenghis were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Denis Philpott hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Budleigh Salterton's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Barney Winship 53 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Donald Calder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordan Budge, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Mbenghis's Graeme Patterson got a free kick in the 58th minute. 2-3 became the score in the 62nd minute when Zane Thompson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Antony Dothery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ray Alsford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antony Dothery in the 67th minute. Budleigh Salterton's Ray Alsford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Winship in the 69th minute of play. Budleigh Salterton's Ray Alsford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Budleigh Salterton from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Mbenghis defense, Jordan Budge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donald Calder. The Mbenghis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donald Calder should have stopped the shot. Antony Dothery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antony Dothery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Alsford having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mbenghis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
