Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 158) Guy Thompson made the kick off and thus started the match. 4 minutes into the match, Budleigh Salterton's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Miller came free, but Ray Alsford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Gone With the Win's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Murtagh came free, but Kenny Jobling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Andrew Miller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gone With the Win fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Dominik Slator was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gone With the Win's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Budleigh Salterton the free kick. The supporters of Budleigh Salterton booed when Gone With the Win was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Slator didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gone With the Win's Kenny Jobling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zane Thompson in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, Budleigh Salterton's Laurence Murtagh made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenny Jobling was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th match minute, Gone With the Win was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy Thompson to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Blair Bannatyne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ray Alsford. The goal made the score 2-1. Kenny Jobling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurence Murtagh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Trev Ash notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Gone With the Win's Kenny Jobling. Kenny Jobling was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gone With the Win's Kenny Jobling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Murtagh in the 33rd minute of play. With 35 minutes on the clock, Will Garlick commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gone With the Win fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Budleigh Salterton a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Chris Wright, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gone With the Win's Kenny Jobling. 2-3. After 39 played minutes Budleigh Salterton got a freekick which was hit by Fitz Challis. Budleigh Salterton's Ray Alsford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Budleigh Salterton from getting a goal against them. Zane Thompson might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenny Jobling. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zane Thompson ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.
The wind increased when Zane Thompson made the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Andrew Miller in the 52nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kenny Jobling was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Zane Thompson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zane Thompson really showed his touch with that goal: 3-4. Jordan Budge could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Kenny Jobling made a huge save. Kenny Jobling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zane Thompson in the 71st minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Laurence Murtagh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kenny Jobling. Laurence Murtagh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-5. Kenny Jobling was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Zane Thompson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zane Thompson really showed his touch with that goal: 3-6. Zane Thompson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kenny Jobling came out and tried to block the shot, but Zane Thompson slotted it home off the left post making it 3-7 in the 85th minute. After 88 played minutes Gone With the Win got a freekick which was hit by Blair Bannatyne. In the 89th minute Zane Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenny Jobling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Blair Bannatyne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Budleigh Salterton's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
