Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Warren Allott started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Thirsk getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kevin Pell hit a great ball. 3 minutes into the match, Reggie Higgins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Den Watson. Thirsk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reggie Higgins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Den Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Bond, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Warren Allott managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thirsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Warren Allott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Johnstone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dominic Frost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Johnstone having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Unia Tarnow got a freekick which was hit by Neil Sullivan. Den Watson made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Gwyn Letheren sent off a good shot on target. Den Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Sullivan in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Unia Tarnow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nathan Holdroyd to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Pell lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Lloyd Fry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unia Tarnow's supporters rose to their feet, but Lloyd Fry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Den Watson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jake Dowrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Thirsk's Den Watson got control of the ball when Reggie Higgins tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Unia Tarnow's Neil Sullivan got a free kick in the 44th minute. Dominic Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jon Johnstone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reggie Higgins.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rory Bevan made a kick off. If Dominic Frost had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Den Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reggie Higgins in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Rory Bevan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Den Watson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 69 minutes into the match, Rory Bevan notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Thirsk's Den Watson. Den Watson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 72nd minute Reggie Higgins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Den Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Higgins, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 83rd minute, Neil Sullivan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Unia Tarnow getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nathan Holdroyd hit a great ball. The long shot by Warren Allott in the 86th minute really tested Jon Johnstone's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tom Bond scored 6-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Den Watson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute of the match Nathan Holdroyd shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Den Watson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 96 minutes of play, Unia Tarnow's Reggie Higgins made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Den Watson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Unia Tarnow fans cheered their team off the field, for while Thirsk had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
