Donald Calder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Colman in the 17th minute of the match. Gwyn Letheren hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, Vinnie Bradbury was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unia Tarnow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mbenghis the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Unia Tarnow fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! Denis Philpott charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denis Philpott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Denis Philpott hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Rory Bevan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donald Calder was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Donald Calder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reggie Higgins in the 31st minute of the match. Antony Dothery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Johnstone having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Sullivan in the 34th minute of play forced Mbenghis's goalkeeper Donald Calder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mbenghis booed when Unia Tarnow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alistair Downham didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Denis Philpott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barney Winship in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Johnstone saved Unia Tarnow from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie Higgins in the 44th minute of play forced Mbenghis's goalkeeper Donald Calder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes, Keith Dryden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mbenghis and the Unia Tarnow players grew even worse after the yellow card. Keith Dryden kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Donald Calder acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Lloyd Fry. 81 minutes into the match, Barney Winship notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Unia Tarnow's Jon Johnstone. Jon Johnstone was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reggie Higgins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Donald Calder made a huge save. If Barney Winship had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graeme Patterson in the 93rd minute of play forced Unia Tarnow's goalkeeper Jon Johnstone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Denis Philpott left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mbenghis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2.
