When Laurence Moxon fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canvey Island's protests and gave Laurence Moxon a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Canvey Island fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Hashtag United a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ian Osbon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canvey Island's Justin Fry. 1-0. Hashtag United's Harvey Calder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Cousins in the 9th minute of play. Justin Fry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Steele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Hashtag United's goal looked a bit too open when Spike Hall came free, but Harvey Calder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harvey Calder came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Canvey Island's Spike Hall. But to his dismay, Spike Hall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Spike Hall struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Harvey Calder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canvey Island. If Ash Steele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ash Steele struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Justin Fry didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hashtag United. Justin Fry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ash Steele in the 27th minute of play. Kris Cousins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Spike Hall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Harvey Calder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Canvey Island's Spike Hall in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hashtag United's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Canvey Island getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Spike Hall hit a great ball. Ash Steele's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justin Fry read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Spike Hall scored 1-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Harvey Calder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ash Steele stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Canvey Island's Callum Coleman seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Callum Coleman the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Canvey Island protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Callum Coleman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canvey Island! Adam Walters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harvey Calder having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Hashtag United's Ash Steele sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justin Fry narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hashtag United's Harvey Calder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Hashtag United from getting a goal against them. After 71 minutes, Jimmy Lineker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hashtag United and the Canvey Island players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hashtag United getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jimmy Lineker hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Stuart Allanson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hashtag United's supporters rose to their feet, but Stuart Allanson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justin Fry breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Stuart Allanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Trotter hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Ash Steele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st play minute Kris Cousins came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Harvey Calder. 2-3. Jack Trotter struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Harvey Calder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canvey Island. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canvey Island! The referee gave Hashtag United a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ian Osbon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canvey Island's Justin Fry. 3-3. Jack Trotter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canvey Island's Kris Cousins got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justin Fry didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ash Steele went, in the 101st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Hashtag United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
