Spectators: 7355 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 10) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Les Newby got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Les Newby in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicky Bensley saved Carlin How Unite from getting behind. A hard shot by Ashley Coulthard from long distance, 8 minutes into the match, got Liam Dwyer's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 11 minutes of play, Carlin How Unite's Huey Dawson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Liam Dwyer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Les Newby in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicky Bensley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rdth minute of the game Les Newby who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carlin How Unite's Nicky Bensley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nicky Bensley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Les Newby in the 25th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Les Newby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicky Bensley. Carlin How Unite's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Les Newby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Alsager AFC's CJ Burrows got a free kick in the 30th minute. Huey Dawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Liam Dwyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Carlin How Unite's Huey Dawson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Liam Dwyer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Huey Dawson might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Liam Dwyer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Huey Dawson ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Huey Dawson was the one to do the kick off. Huey Dawson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Liam Dwyer having to make a save. In the 59th minute, Les Newby reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicky Bensley. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 64th minute, Les Newby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicky Bensley was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Les Newby took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicky Bensley. Nicky Bensley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 74 minutes into the game, CJ Burrows was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alsager AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlin How Unite the free kick. CJ Burrows kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Alsager AFC's Liam Dwyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huey Dawson in the 75th minute of play. Les Newby hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Huey Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlin How Unite's supporters rose to their feet, but Huey Dawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liam Dwyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlin How Unite's goalkeeper Nicky Bensley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Les Newby's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Nicky Bensley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the final whistle sounded Alsager AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Carlin How Unite.
