Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Les Newby started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Bobby Evans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ronnie Leyburn fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alsager AFC's protests and gave Ronnie Leyburn a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Alsager AFC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ronnie Leyburn hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes Alsager AFC got a freekick which was hit by CJ Burrows. The supporters of Sutton Valence FC booed when Alsager AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Lawless didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Clarke, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ronnie Leyburn got his second yellow card in the match during the 25th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Alsager AFC's Ronnie Leyburn got a free kick in the 26th minute. CJ Burrows came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jack Norton could save by the left post. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sutton Valence FC's goalkeeper Jack Norton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Gerry Leeson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Les Newby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Jack Norton made a huge save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Laurie to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Les Newby in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jack Norton saved Sutton Valence FC from getting behind. When Sean Hislop fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sutton Valence FC's protests and gave Sean Hislop a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, Gerry Leeson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Bakewell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Alsager AFC's Les Newby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jack Norton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 70 minutes into the match, Sutton Valence FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Langston came free, but Jack Norton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Alsager AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. CJ Burrows hit a great ball. Alsager AFC's Liam Dwyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Laurie in the 74th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sutton Valence FC's zone, Ryan Bakewell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jack Norton came out of the goal and Ryan Bakewell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Les Newby notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sutton Valence FC's Jack Norton. Jack Norton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Liam Dwyer made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Bobby Evans sent off a good shot on target. CJ Burrows hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Alsager AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
