An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Mansell in the 24th minute of play forced Alsager AFC's goalkeeper Liam Dwyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Pete Mansell notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Alsager AFC's Liam Dwyer. Liam Dwyer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andre Proctor kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Manchester getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jim Bray hit a great ball. When Camron Beesley fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alsager AFC's protests and gave Camron Beesley a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Camron Beesley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rowan Cook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Dwyer having to interfere. Les Newby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Simon Stockley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shawn Higgins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liam Dwyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shawn Higgins in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Les Newby made the kick off in the second half. FC Manchester's Pete Mansell got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Les Newby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alsager AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 65 minutes, Ryan Bakewell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alsager AFC and the FC Manchester players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Rowan Cook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, Alsager AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gwyn Rushforth to maneuver through the defense. Rowan Cook struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Liam Dwyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Manchester. The supporters of Alsager AFC booed when FC Manchester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Proctor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liam Dwyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rowan Cook in the 76th minute of play. FC Manchester's Rowan Cook got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Camron Beesley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
