In the 6th match minute, Black Universe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Cornforth to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, FC Manchester's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Cornforth came free, but Simon Stockley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Stockley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenny Halliday in the 13th minute of play. Lenny Halliday recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Derek Atkinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rowan Cook in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Black Universe's Alexander Weeks got a free kick in the 19th minute. Derek Atkinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pete Mansell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Cornforth was shown his second yellow card after 22 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 22 played minutes Black Universe got a freekick which was hit by Kris Cornforth. Alexander Weeks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simon Stockley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Rowan Cook received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Derek Atkinson came out and tried to block the shot, but Rowan Cook slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. Ash Beckford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Atkinson was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Rowan Cook capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rowan Cook really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Alexander Weeks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lenny Halliday during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lenny Halliday hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rowan Cook to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Pete Mansell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derek Atkinson skillfully saved the ball. In the 58th minute Rowan Cook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Atkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes, Ash Beckford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Manchester and the Black Universe players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Manchester getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ash Beckford hit a great ball. Lenny Halliday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Simon Stockley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derek Atkinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rowan Cook, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The audience was convinced that Rowan Cook's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Derek Atkinson was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 70th minute Lenny Halliday shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Stockley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simon Stockley made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Lenny Halliday sent off a good shot on target. In the 78thth minute of the game Rowan Cook who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Universe's Derek Atkinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 79 minutes in the game, Richie Mahon fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Simon Stockley having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Lenny Halliday made a precise shot to the right of Simon Stockley. FC Manchester's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. When Lenny Halliday came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Black Universe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenny Halliday couldn't finish the play.
