A collision led to Carlin How Unite getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Robert Atkinson hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Patrick Laurie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky Bensley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Atkinson charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Atkinson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Carlin How Unite got a freekick which was hit by Robert Atkinson. Nath Pearce hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. With his leg Nicky Bensley managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Sutton Valence FC's Patrick Laurie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huey Dawson in the 29th minute of play forced Sutton Valence FC's goalkeeper Jack Norton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 minutes, Patrick Laurie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sutton Valence FC and the Carlin How Unite players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Carlin How Unite booed when Sutton Valence FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Laurie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Bensley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Laurie in the 44th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Huey Dawson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Luke Brearley could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Jack Norton however easily saved by the left post. Jack Norton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Coulthard in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Nath Pearce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Huey Dawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Carlin How Unite's Huey Dawson in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sutton Valence FC's goalie prevented a goal. Nicky Bensley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Summers, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Huey Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlin How Unite's supporters rose to their feet, but Huey Dawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jack Norton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the game, Nath Pearce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carlin How Unite's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sutton Valence FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Carlin How Unite's Nath Pearce got a free kick in the 98th minute. Sutton Valence FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
