After a rather tough play, Alsager AFC's Les Newby got a free kick in the 24th minute. The supporters of Alsager AFC booed when Winchester FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bobby Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Calvin Walls to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bobby Walker in the 51st minute of play forced Alsager AFC's goalkeeper Liam Dwyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calvin Walls received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Liam Dwyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Les Newby's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Seth Talbot firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Dom Partridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liam Dwyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Partridge in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of Winchester FC booed when Alsager AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronnie Leyburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Bobby Walker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Dwyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alsager AFC's Liam Dwyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dom Partridge in the 79th minute of play. Winchester FC's Dom Partridge got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Gerry Leeson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Winchester FC's Matty Beadel in action when he in the 90th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Gwyn Rushforth hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alsager AFC's zone, Bobby Walker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liam Dwyer came out of the goal and Bobby Walker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Winchester FC had played much better football throughout.
