Seating: 1881, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ken Halliday made the kick off which started today's match. In the 2nd minute, Thom Dixon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Tynemouth Wanderers's John-Paul Amos got a free kick in the 25th minute. Brown Jackson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Corcoran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, John-Paul Amos notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Batley's Neil Doona. Neil Doona was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Tynemouth Wanderers's zone, Timothy Slator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brown Jackson came out of the goal and Timothy Slator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brown Jackson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Rain, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Batley's goalkeeper Neil Doona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John-Paul Amos. Brown Jackson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gez Rain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John-Paul Amos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Neil Doona made a huge save. John-Paul Amos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gez Rain to strike the kick off in the second half. Neil Doona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Halliday in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Iain Wiltshire threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tynemouth Wanderers's Les Hayles quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Batley's Neil Doona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wes Welch in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes of play, Tynemouth Wanderers's Ken Halliday made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Neil Doona was left in no man's land by his defense there! Neil Doona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ken Halliday's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. A collision led to Batley getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Gez Rain hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ken Halliday in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neil Doona prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Batley's Brown Jackson threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gez Rain, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John-Paul Amos in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Neil Doona saved Batley from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timothy Slator got free with Brown Jackson in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Tynemouth Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Gez Rain came free, but Brown Jackson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John-Paul Amos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tynemouth Wanderers's Liam Roche was substituted for John-Paul Amos. Batley's Neil Doona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken Halliday in the 82nd minute of play. Tynemouth Wanderers made a substitution. Jasper Llewellyn replaced Christopher Hedley. After 87 played minutes Batley got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Slator. Neil Doona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liam Roche's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After a rather tough play, Batley's Robert Waddington got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Batley's Neil Doona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Roche in the 96th minute of play. Neil Doona didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liam Roche went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tynemouth Wanderers fully deserved thier win.
