The wind increased when Jermaine Houghton made the kick off in the second half. Joey Etherington came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nottingham Forest's Denzil Prendergast. But to his dismay, Denzil Prendergast quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nottingham Forest's Warren Bolton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Nottingham Forest from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the match, Nottingham Forest's goalkeeper Warren Bolton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doug Wagstaff. In the 66th minute, Jermaine Houghton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denzil Prendergast received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Sebastian Cummings shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joey Etherington showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Despite being the better team, Nottingham Forest failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
