An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Broadhurst in the 4th minute of play forced Renton United's goalkeeper Jordan Blackwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Rhys Rain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jordan Blackwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Rain, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Nottingham Forest booed when Renton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Toovey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conal Windsor hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Sebastian Cummings took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jordan Blackwood. Jordan Blackwood dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Wesley Mortimer fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Renton United's protests and gave Wesley Mortimer a yellow card for diving instead. Wesley Mortimer hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jordan Blackwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Rain, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jordan Blackwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rhys Rain in the 20th minute of the match. After having played for 24 minutes, Rhys Rain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nottingham Forest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rhys Rain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jordan Blackwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Cummings, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Alf Broadhurst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nottingham Forest's Rhys Rain got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rhys Rain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Jepson in the 45th minute of play forced Renton United's goalkeeper Jordan Blackwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Rhys Rain made the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Sebastian Cummings got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jordan Blackwood quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhys Rain in the 53rd minute of play forced Renton United's goalkeeper Jordan Blackwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 played minutes Renton United got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Mortimer. 62 minutes into the match, Wesley Mortimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Warren Bolton. Nottingham Forest's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wesley Mortimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Rhys Rain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jordan Blackwood came out and tried to block the shot, but Rhys Rain slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 71st minute. In the 74th match minute, Renton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Mortimer to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Nottingham Forest's Jordan Blackwood threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rhys Rain, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Theo Medlin hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Rhys Rain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd match minute, Renton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conal Windsor to maneuver through the defense. A long shot from Sebastian Cummings in the 83rd minute of play was well struck, but Jordan Blackwood made a really good save at the right post. Jordan Blackwood didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 84th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. If Rhys Rain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Sebastian Cummings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordan Blackwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhys Rain in the 90th minute of play forced Renton United's goalkeeper Jordan Blackwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renton United's Jordan Blackwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rhys Rain in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Renton United's goal looked a bit too open when Rhys Rain came free, but Jordan Blackwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Rhys Rain fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gavin Nelson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nottingham Forest's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
