The supporters of Chelsea booed when United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Sadler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 played minutes, Chelsea's Reggie Stewart shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Todd Rose came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelsea reached it. In the 59th match minute, Chelsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeff Brighton to maneuver through the defense. Garry Duffield kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Huey Nicholls recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beinn Meadowcroft showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Craig Billington, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Huey Nicholls got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Todd Rose made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeff Brighton in the 82nd minute of play. When Walter Gray came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walter Gray couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Chelsea's Jeff Brighton got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Craig Billington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chelsea's Eric Speight got a free kick in the 91st minute. Craig Billington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinn Meadowcroft having to interfere. Beinn Meadowcroft showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Billington in the 98th minute of the match. If Huey Nicholls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Chelsea were victorious despite being under pressure from United FC for much of the match.
