Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ken Halliday got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heathrow FC's goalkeeper Joey Etherington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joey Etherington didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from John-Paul Amos went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th match minute, Heathrow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Wagstaff to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Tynemouth Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Jermaine Houghton came free, but Brown Jackson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Ken Halliday shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Etherington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Heathrow FC got a freekick which was hit by Olly Higgins. 15 minutes into the match, John-Paul Amos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joey Etherington. Heathrow FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John-Paul Amos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 19th minute, John-Paul Amos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tynemouth Wanderers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Tynemouth Wanderers's Brown Jackson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olly Higgins in the 26th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, Tynemouth Wanderers's John-Paul Amos made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joey Etherington was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ken Halliday in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joey Etherington saved Heathrow FC from getting behind. Brown Jackson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jermaine Houghton, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Tynemouth Wanderers's John-Paul Amos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joey Etherington made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 39th minute Jermaine Houghton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brown Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joey Etherington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Paul Amos, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A collision led to Heathrow FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Benji Jones hit a great ball. Wes Welch charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wes Welch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tynemouth Wanderers's Wes Welch got a free kick in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jermaine Houghton to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tynemouth Wanderers's Ken Halliday ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joey Etherington. Joey Etherington yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. John-Paul Amos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Joey Etherington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Heathrow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olly Higgins to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes Heathrow FC got a freekick which was hit by Olly Higgins. The supporters of Tynemouth Wanderers booed when Heathrow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benji Jones didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ken Halliday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Joey Etherington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liam Roche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Joey Etherington made a huge save. Ken Halliday recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Liam Roche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joey Etherington was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. In the 87th match minute, Heathrow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olly Higgins to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Ken Halliday reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joey Etherington. The goal made the score 0-9.
