The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Timothy Slator kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th play minute Ralph Hargrave came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Neil Doona. 1-0. Anthony Cawood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gez Rain in the 8th minute of play. Ralph Hargrave charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ralph Hargrave the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Batley booed when Superbad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralph Hargrave didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gez Rain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anthony Cawood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gez Rain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anthony Cawood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gez Rain in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Rain in the 32nd minute of play forced Superbad's goalkeeper Anthony Cawood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timothy Slator hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, Superbad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glyn Bridgeworth to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute of the match Iain Wiltshire sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anthony Cawood skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gez Rain made the kick off in the second half. Gez Rain charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gez Rain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gez Rain kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Grant Corcoran reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anthony Cawood. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 65th minute, Gez Rain made a precise shot to the right of Anthony Cawood. Superbad's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Thanks to some nice moves Grant Corcoran could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Anthony Cawood however easily saved by the left post. Anthony Cawood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Rain, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Superbad's Anthony Cawood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Superbad from getting a goal against them. Anthony Cawood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Kinsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anthony Cawood made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Daniel Kinsey sent off a good shot on target. Batley's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
