The supporters of Nottingham Forest booed when Superbad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Stewart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rhys Rain made the kick off in the second half. Anthony Cawood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rhys Rain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Superbad's Glenn Pennant got a free kick in the 61st minute. Alf Broadhurst could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Anthony Cawood made a huge save. If Frank Jepson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute of the match Denzil Prendergast sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anthony Cawood skillfully saved the ball. After 78 played minutes Superbad got a freekick which was hit by Gio van Bronckhorst. Anthony Cawood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rhys Rain in the 85th minute of play. Gio van Bronckhorst kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Anthony Cawood made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Alf Broadhurst sent off a good shot on target. Nottingham Forest's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
