It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rhys Rain kicked off to start the match. Warren Bolton made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Doug Wagstaff sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olly Higgins in the 9th minute of play forced Nottingham Forest's goalkeeper Warren Bolton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Nottingham Forest's goalkeeper Warren Bolton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doug Wagstaff. If Alf Broadhurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jermaine Houghton in the 16th minute of play forced Nottingham Forest's goalkeeper Warren Bolton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rhys Rain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joey Etherington read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Doug Wagstaff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Rhys Rain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nottingham Forest fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhys Rain in the 35th minute of play forced Heathrow FC's goalkeeper Joey Etherington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heathrow FC's Joey Etherington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rhys Rain in the 36th minute of play. When Ozzy Waller fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heathrow FC's protests and gave Ozzy Waller a yellow card for diving instead. Ozzy Waller kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Heathrow FC's Olly Higgins got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 43 minutes, Denzil Prendergast mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nottingham Forest and the Heathrow FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denzil Prendergast hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Jermaine Houghton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heathrow FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jermaine Houghton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Warren Bolton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jermaine Houghton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Rhys Rain came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Nottingham Forest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rhys Rain couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heathrow FC's goalkeeper Joey Etherington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alf Broadhurst blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joey Etherington having to make a save. 69 minutes into the match, Rhys Rain dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joey Etherington, 2-3. 73 minutes into the game, Doug Wagstaff cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Warren Bolton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 76th match minute, Heathrow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Wagstaff to maneuver through the defense. Nottingham Forest's Alf Broadhurst was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Doug Wagstaff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Bolton having to interfere. A collision led to Heathrow FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Isaac Chambers hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Heathrow FC's Olly Higgins got a free kick in the 97th minute. Joey Etherington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rhys Rain in the 98th minute of the match. Nottingham Forest's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
