After a defensive mix-up in Juventus's zone, Dylon Howson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thom Daly came out of the goal and Dylon Howson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Malcolm Lambert hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Thom Daly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylon Howson, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Malcolm Lambert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Shane Leadbeater tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manchester Liverpool F.C.'s Shane Leadbeater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Blacknell in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Rupert Blacknell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Leadbeater saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Blacknell in the 44th minute of play forced Manchester Liverpool F.C.'s goalkeeper Shane Leadbeater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Walter Blackhurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Blacknell couldn't finish the play. Shane Leadbeater was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Rupert Blacknell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
