Spectators: 7960 (Terracing: 5971, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 158) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Greg Morgan took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ozzy Lamb in the 6th minute of play forced Real Brid's goalkeeper Giles Gale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giles Gale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nial Crittenden in the 7th minute of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Phillip Gettins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Brid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phillip Gettins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kevin Welch fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corby's protests and gave Kevin Welch a yellow card for diving instead. Kevin Welch kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Greg Morgan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giles Gale was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 26th minute Nial Crittenden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giles Gale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Real Brid got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Holbrook. After a defensive mix-up in Real Brid's zone, Kris Cuss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giles Gale came out of the goal and Kris Cuss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Greg Morgan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Wardle was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Phillip Gettins capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Phillip Gettins really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Kevin Welch got a throw-in 56 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Greg Morgan. Felix Wardle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip Gettins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Real Brid's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Morgan came free, but Giles Gale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matthew Renwick kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. When Phillip Gettins fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Brid's protests and gave Phillip Gettins a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Corby's Kevin Welch got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 81st minute Quentin Marshall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Wardle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Nial Crittenden in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Real Brid's Ronnie Eastham. Corby's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
