Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Doug Butcher kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Gav Spink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donnington United's supporters rose to their feet, but Gav Spink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ben Gaskell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bulwell's Ben Gaskell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doug Butcher in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Gav Spink ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ben Gaskell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Doug Butcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ben Gaskell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Tyrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rick Tyrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ben Gaskell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stew Fenwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Pitt having to interfere. If Ty Kellaway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben Gaskell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liam Sears went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doug Butcher in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ben Gaskell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Stew Fenwick fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bulwell's protests and gave Stew Fenwick a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Bulwell got a freekick which was hit by Stew Fenwick. After 31 played minutes, Donnington United's Doug Butcher shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ben Gaskell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Donnington United reached it. Stew Fenwick hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ben Gaskell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gav Spink in the 39th minute of play. Ben Gaskell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Butcher in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Bulwell's goal looked a bit too open when Gav Spink came free, but Ben Gaskell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Donnington United's goal looked a bit too open when Ty Kellaway came free, but Karl Pitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ty Kellaway to make the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 54 minutes into the game, when John Gilroy put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 56 minutes, Donnington United's Doug Butcher got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ben Gaskell. Bulwell's Ben Gaskell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doug Butcher in the 61st minute of play. After taking down the ball on Donnington United's corner Doug Butcher fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ben Gaskell quite easily take care of the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Bulwell's goalkeeper Ben Gaskell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gav Spink. Thanks to some nice moves Gav Spink could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Ben Gaskell however easily saved by the left post. Bulwell's Ben Gaskell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doug Butcher in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doug Butcher in the 74th minute of play forced Bulwell's goalkeeper Ben Gaskell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 minutes, Gav Spink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donnington United and the Bulwell players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Donnington United's Gav Spink got a free kick in the 76th minute. Bulwell's Ben Gaskell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Bulwell from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Bulwell getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Rodd Horner hit a great ball. Liam Sears received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ben Gaskell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ben Gaskell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Butcher in the 86th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Donnington United's Ben Gaskell threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Doug Butcher, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bulwell fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! Donnington United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Doug Butcher in the 96th minute. Jools Plumber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Gaskell having to interfere. Ben Gaskell came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by Donnington United's Doug Butcher. But to his dismay, Doug Butcher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Donnington United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
