Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Kurt Lodge notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Newport City's Timothy Gough. Timothy Gough was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Rockett in the 18th minute of play forced Dynamo Hill FC's goalkeeper Calvin Stockton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes, Howard Wainwright mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dynamo Hill FC and the Newport City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Newport City booed when Dynamo Hill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Howard Wainwright didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kurt Lodge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Kurt Lodge sped through Newport City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Timothy Gough. Alan Rockett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Calvin Stockton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timothy Gough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Lodge in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Nathan Stamer notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Dynamo Hill FC's Calvin Stockton. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 51 minutes of play Dynamo Hill FC's Howard Wainwright was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Dynamo Hill FC's Howard Wainwright got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Dynamo Hill FC's Calvin Stockton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Rockett in the 86th minute of play. Calvin Stockton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Rockett in the 92nd minute of the match. Jonathon Renwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Newport City were victorious despite being under pressure from Dynamo Hill FC for much of the match.
