In the 14th minute, Willingale Hotspur F.C.'s Lenny Lonsdale ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Timothy Gough. Timothy Gough yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Patrick Housham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alan Rockett went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Willingale Hotspur F.C. booed when Newport City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Hubbard didn't get a good kick on the ball.
