An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Bartlett in the 14th minute of play forced Ambleside's goalkeeper Shane Ruddock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willingale Hotspur F.C.'s Josh Jordan pulled a muscle in his back after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 16 minutes, Benjamin Moss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ambleside and the Willingale Hotspur F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 15 minutes into the game, one of Ambleside:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ambleside:s Shane Ruddock showed great skill when he stopped Kristian Castledine:s penalty. In the 18th minute, Kristian Castledine reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Shane Ruddock. The goal made the score 1-1. Willingale Hotspur F.C.'s Patrick Housham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Gray in the 27th minute of play. Rory Bowler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Willingale Hotspur F.C.'s zone, Conal Gray stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Housham came out of the goal and Conal Gray tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jack Carey-Bertram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conal Gray stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ambleside's Conal Gray got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jack Carey-Bertram came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Ambleside fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Carey-Bertram couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ambleside getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Damian Patterson hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Willingale Hotspur F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Conal Gray came free, but Patrick Housham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Willingale Hotspur F.C. defense, Conal Gray kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrick Housham. The Willingale Hotspur F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Housham should have stopped the shot. Jack Carey-Bertram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Housham having to interfere. Conal Gray might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick Housham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conal Gray ran back to his position shaking his head. Conal Gray hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Jack Carey-Bertram came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Patrick Housham could save by the left post.
