Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Walter Castledine got the match started through his kick off. Ambleside's Shane Ruddock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ray Alsop in the 3rd minute of play. When Jack Carey-Bertram came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Ambleside fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Carey-Bertram couldn't finish the play. Shane Ruddock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ray Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Shane Ruddock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ray Alsop in the 10th minute of the match. Jack Carey-Bertram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th match minute, Machiavellian was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damion Rowett to maneuver through the defense. Jack Carey-Bertram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Brooke having to interfere. Johnny Brooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conal Gray in the 16th minute of play. Shane Ruddock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keanu Wardell in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Machiavellian's Ray Alsop nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shane Ruddock made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Shawn Sutton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shane Ruddock. Ambleside's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shawn Sutton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Shane Ruddock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ray Alsop in the 27th minute of the match. Shane Ruddock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keanu Wardell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Keanu Wardell hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conal Gray in the 40th minute of play forced Machiavellian's goalkeeper Johnny Brooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damion Rowett hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Machiavellian were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Keanu Wardell kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. When Ambleside's Conal Gray, in the 56th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ambleside. Jack Carey-Bertram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Brooke having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Walter Castledine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Ruddock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shane Ruddock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Castledine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Alsops short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Shane Ruddock to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Castledine in the 74th minute of play forced Ambleside's goalkeeper Shane Ruddock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnny Brooke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jack Carey-Bertram went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Jack Carey-Bertram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Walter Castledine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Castledine in the 85th minute of play forced Ambleside's goalkeeper Shane Ruddock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Alsop struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Shane Ruddock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machiavellian. After 89 played minutes, Machiavellian's Damion Rowett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Shane Ruddock came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Machiavellian reached it. In the 91st minute, Machiavellian's Shawn Sutton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Shane Ruddock. Shane Ruddock yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Johnny Brooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conal Gray in the 97th minute of play. Machiavellian's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
