Ritchie Knight-Percival struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Timothy Gough didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Killer Giants FC. The supporters of Killer Giants FC booed when Newport City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Rockett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Noel Bullock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Rockett, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Newport City's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Bateson came free, but Timothy Gough reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Nathan Stamer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Noel Bullock was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Aaron Griffiths fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Gough having to interfere. Newport City's Miles Wild pulled a muscle in his back after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Trey Ely's late challenge caught a Newport City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trey Ely helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th match minute, Killer Giants FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trey Ely to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Ritchie Knight-Percival who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newport City's Timothy Gough was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Ed Hubbard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newport City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killer Giants FC the free kick. In the 27th minute, one of Newport City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Newport City. Timothy Gough came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Killer Giants FC's Felix Pope. But to his dismay, Felix Pope quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nathan Stamer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Noel Bullock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Killer Giants FC's goalkeeper Noel Bullock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nathan Stamer. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aaron Griffiths made a kick off. A collision led to Newport City getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Steven Corrigan hit a great ball. Aaron Griffiths sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aaron Griffiths might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timothy Gough. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaron Griffiths ran back to his position shaking his head. 74 minutes into the match, Killer Giants FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan Stamer came free, but Noel Bullock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ritchie Knight-Percival in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Timothy Gough, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nathan Stamer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Ethan Oates made a precise shot to the right of Noel Bullock. Killer Giants FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Noel Bullock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Stamer in the 89th minute of the match. Timothy Gough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Griffiths, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ritchie Knight-Percival received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Timothy Gough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Killer Giants FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
