Spectators: 8003 (Terracing: 6004, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 159) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sacha Kerr kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Sacha Kerr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester Devils's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sacha Kerr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bart Lappin kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Walter Castledine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walter Castledine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Walter Castledine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22ndth minute of the game Walter Castledine who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester Devils's Dominik Hunter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Dion Cross was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Machiavellian the free kick. The supporters of Machiavellian booed when Manchester Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dion Cross didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Machiavellian's Lawrence Marriott broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ray Alsop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dominik Hunter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ray Alsop went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Machiavellian's Ray Alsop got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Castledine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ray Alsop took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dominik Hunter. Dominik Hunter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Dominik Hunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Alsop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester Devils's goalkeeper Dominik Hunter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 54 minutes Manchester Devils's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lawrence Marriott who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Lawrence Marriott almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Manchester Devils's Dominik Hunter did a great save. 56 minutes into the match, Ray Alsop notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Manchester Devils's Dominik Hunter. Dominik Hunter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Dominik Hunter successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Castledine in the 65th minute of play forced Manchester Devils's goalkeeper Dominik Hunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Manchester Devils's Bart Lappin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnny Brooke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After 69 played minutes Manchester Devils got a freekick which was hit by Ashley Burgess. If Walter Castledine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominik Hunter made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Ray Alsop sent off a good shot on target. Shawn Sutton hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Manchester Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Castledine came free, but Dominik Hunter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester Devils's zone, Walter Castledine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dominik Hunter came out of the goal and Walter Castledine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st match minute, Manchester Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ashley Burgess to maneuver through the defense. Walter Castledine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dominik Hunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dominik Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Castledine in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Machiavellian could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Manchester Devils throughout the match.
