The referee ignored THFC Youth Academy's protests and gave Stuart Osbourn a yellow card for diving instead. Stuart Osbourn hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, THFC Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Winstanley to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the game, Russ Maxwell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Kevin Tonkin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Russ Maxwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Kevin Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Manchester Devils fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Manchester Devils's Russ Maxwell looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of THFC Youth Academy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Manchester Devils:s goal. Kevin Tonkin went to the wrong direction when Russ Maxwell was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Kevin Tonkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed Goldthorpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Russ Maxwell made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Tonkin. THFC Youth Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Alex Blower fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored THFC Youth Academy's protests and gave Alex Blower a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes THFC Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Bolton. Russ Maxwells short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Kevin Tonkin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kevin Tonkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russ Maxwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kevin Tonkin made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Ralf Cowling sent off a good shot on target. Russ Maxwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kevin Tonkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester Devils. In the 47th minute, Tyler Notley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stuart Osbourn was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Rob Hartley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Devils's supporters rose to their feet, but Rob Hartley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Tonkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kevin Tonkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russ Maxwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Bolton charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Russ Maxwell in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Tonkin saved THFC Youth Academy from getting behind. Kevin Tonkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ed Goldthorpe in the 81st minute of the match. Russ Maxwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonkin having to interfere. Rupert Courtney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Russ Maxwell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Russ Maxwell scored 7-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kevin Tonkin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rupert Courtney in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Ellis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manchester Devils's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
