The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Michael Wardle charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Wardle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Johnnie Swinscoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Trev Fitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Legia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vince Craven fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnnie Swinscoe got free with Trev Fitter in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnnie Swinscoe in the 18th minute of play forced Legia's goalkeeper Trev Fitter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as The Glass Cannon's Johnnie Swinscoe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Trev Fitter. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. When Vince Craven came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the The Glass Cannon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vince Craven couldn't finish the play. Johnnie Swinscoe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vince Craven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Trev Fitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martyn Rooneys short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Trev Fitter to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Vince Craven managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Glass Cannon's supporters rose to their feet, but Vince Craven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trev Fitter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Johnnie Swinscoe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Trev Fitter, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when CJ Brady made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Legia's zone, Vince Craven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trev Fitter came out of the goal and Vince Craven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute, Vince Craven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute Vince Craven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trev Fitter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Johnnie Swinscoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnnie Swinscoe in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trev Fitter saved Legia from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Legia's zone, Vince Craven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trev Fitter came out of the goal and Vince Craven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martyn Rooney took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trev Fitter. Trev Fitter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 66 minutes, Martyn Rooney made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Legia's Trev Fitter tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vince Craven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, The Glass Cannon's Vince Craven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trev Fitter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Vince Craven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Legia's Trev Fitter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 77th minute of the match Michael Wardle completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Michael Wardle a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th match minute, Legia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Wardle to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Johnnie Swinscoe notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Legia's Trev Fitter. Trev Fitter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Johnnie Swinscoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Vince Craven's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trev Fitter was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Vince Craven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trev Fitter having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the The Glass Cannon players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
