Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Russ Maxwell started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Manchester Devils's Deon Ellerton got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Manchester Devils's Tommy Ellis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Pilgrim in the 5th minute of play. In the 11thth minute of the game Russ Maxwell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but South Lawn FC's Seth Piercy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russ Maxwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Piercy having to interfere. Seth Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Russ Maxwell in the 19th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Chris Pilgrim reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Ellis. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to South Lawn FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. John Paul Ablethorpe hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, South Lawn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Russ Maxwell came free, but Seth Piercy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rob Hartley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Seth Piercy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Russ Maxwell in the 42nd minute of play. Seth Piercy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deon Ellerton, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. When Manchester Devils's Russ Maxwell in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye South Lawn FC's goalie prevented a goal. Deon Ellerton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Pilgrim to make the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Russ Maxwell from a close distance when the talented Seth Piercy managed to make a qualified save. South Lawn FC's players were relieved. Tyler Notley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Russ Maxwell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ralf Cowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Cowling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Piercy having to interfere. Deon Ellerton charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deon Ellerton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Deon Ellerton hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Russ Maxwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Seth Piercy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Russ Maxwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 81 minutes, Ralf Cowling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester Devils's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralf Cowling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Russ Maxwell came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Manchester Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russ Maxwell couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute Chris Pilgrim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Ellis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. South Lawn FC's Seth Piercy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Russ Maxwell in the 90th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chris Pilgrim during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Chris Pilgrim kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russ Maxwell in the 94th minute of play forced South Lawn FC's goalkeeper Seth Piercy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in South Lawn FC's zone, Deon Ellerton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seth Piercy came out of the goal and Deon Ellerton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
