The corner led THFC Youth Academy's Rod Gill to fire away a dangerous shot which Richie Postolan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 19th minute, Benji Hanson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Washinkai Warriors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Joe Kendall came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Washinkai Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joe Kendall couldn't finish the play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stuart Osbourn made a kick off. Benji Hansons short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Kevin Tonkin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin got control of the ball when Benji Hanson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benji Hanson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kevin Tonkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
