The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Rich Radcliffe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honorato Jeraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benji Hanson in the 3rd minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Washinkai Warriors's Fredrik Harlén nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Honorato Jeraldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Richie Postolan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reggie Durkin in the 18th minute of play. Richie Postolan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reggie Durkin in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Galacticos's Reggie Durkin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richie Postolan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Honorato Jeraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benji Hanson in the 26th minute of the match. Richie Postolan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Erik Wennerqvist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Galacticos's goalkeeper Honorato Jeraldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Joe Kendall notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Galacticos's Honorato Jeraldo. Honorato Jeraldo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 46th minute Erik Wennerqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richie Postolan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Erik Wennerqvist made the kick off in the second half. Joe Kendall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Jeraldo having to interfere. When Reggie Durkin came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Galacticos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reggie Durkin couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Joe Kendall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Washinkai Warriors's supporters rose to their feet, but Joe Kendall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Jeraldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Washinkai Warriors's Benji Hanson got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Joe Kendall took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Honorato Jeraldo to make any attempt to save it. If Joe Kendall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute Erik Wennerqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richie Postolan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeo Beswetherick kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Benji Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zaq Mahon might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richie Postolan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zaq Mahon ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie Durkin in the 78th minute of play forced Washinkai Warriors's goalkeeper Richie Postolan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richie Postolan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Durkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sol Hargraves in the 82nd minute of play forced Washinkai Warriors's goalkeeper Richie Postolan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 played minutes Galacticos got a freekick which was hit by Des Conway. Glenn Hutchinson struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Honorato Jeraldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Washinkai Warriors. In the 95th minute of the match, Calvin Clark tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Honorato Jeraldo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Washinkai Warriors eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
