When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Darryl Henry sped through Muswell Hill's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vern Wadham. Nathanial Thorne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis Gilchrist having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Darryl Henry had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vern Wadham. Muswell Hill's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darryl Henry was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 25th minute Andre Hellen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Wadham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Austen Tabb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nathanial Thorne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Travis Gilchrist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Jude Meade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Durham City's goalkeeper Travis Gilchrist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nath Steed. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, one of Muswell Hill:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vern Wadham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Henry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Muswell Hill's Nathanial Thorne in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Durham City's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Durham City's Travis Gilchrist got control of the ball when Nath Steed tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The wind increased when Nathanial Thorne made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Nath Steed who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Durham City's Travis Gilchrist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nathanial Thorne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute, one of Muswell Hill:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Muswell Hill. If Nath Steed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Nath Steed managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muswell Hill's supporters rose to their feet, but Nath Steed was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Travis Gilchrist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute Nath Steed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Travis Gilchrist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andre Hellen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Vern Wadham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Hellen got free with Vern Wadham in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darryl Henry in the 77th minute of play forced Muswell Hill's goalkeeper Vern Wadham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jude Meade in the 78th minute of play forced Durham City's goalkeeper Travis Gilchrist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes Durham City got a freekick which was hit by Connor Hurdle. Muswell Hill's Vern Wadham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Muswell Hill from getting a goal against them. Muswell Hill's Darryl Heath got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nath Steed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andre Hellen scored 1-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vern Wadham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Mason got free with Vern Wadham in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Muswell Hill supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Durham City's performance. The match ended with a win for Durham City.
