The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Southampton. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Fakenham. Rupert Barton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Martin Wilson. 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Rupert Barton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Wilson. Southampton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rupert Barton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Kristopher Rowell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Reading, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wes Hurren struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Martin Wilson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fakenham. 21 minutes into the match, Wes Hurren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Wilson. Kristopher Rowell made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Nat Langsford sent off a good shot on target. Kristopher Rowell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Stayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristopher Rowell was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nat Langsford showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 38 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nat Langsford got free with Kristopher Rowell in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wes Hurren to strike the kick off in the second half. Nat Langsford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristopher Rowell having to interfere. With 53 minutes on the clock, Ralf Howden commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ralf Howden hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Ash Toovey struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Kristopher Rowell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southampton. The audience was convinced that Rupert Barton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Wilson was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nat Langsford in the 58th minute of play forced Fakenham's goalkeeper Kristopher Rowell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Gareth Milligan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristopher Rowell skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Reading in the 63rd minute of play forced Fakenham's goalkeeper Kristopher Rowell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Jack Stayton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southampton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jack Stayton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th match minute, Fakenham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wes Hurren to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Jack Stayton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Kristopher Rowell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jack Stayton went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Kristopher Rowell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Reading, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Kristopher Rowell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Stayton in the 91st minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Fakenham's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Stayton came free, but Kristopher Rowell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rupert Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
