Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Martyn Warden took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6thth minute of the game Celestino Lazcano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kestelburn Village's Craig Oates was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Derby County F.C.'s zone, Rodney Sheldon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Davids came out of the goal and Rodney Sheldon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Craig Oates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greg Albright in the 11th minute of play. When Niall Brindley fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kestelburn Village's protests and gave Niall Brindley a yellow card for diving instead. Derby County F.C.'s Robert Thompson was substituted for Celestino Lazcano. A collision led to Kestelburn Village getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Niall Brindley hit a great ball. Connor Barber took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Craig Oates. Kestelburn Village's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Derby County F.C.'s Greg Albright nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Craig Oates made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Robert Thompson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Davids took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nath Crichton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anton Davids made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Rodney Sheldon sent off a good shot on target. John Horner's late challenge caught a Derby County F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Horner helped the player get up and apologised. Greg Albright struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Craig Oates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derby County F.C.. If Robert Thompson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Derby County F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Thompson to make the kick off. Greg Albright charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greg Albright the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Derby County F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Greg Albright. Craig Oates took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Thompson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st match minute, Kestelburn Village was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Salt to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Derby County F.C.'s Connor Barber tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Craig Oates took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greg Albright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Greg Albright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Oates having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Robert Thompson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Craig Oates. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kestelburn Village's goalkeeper Craig Oates, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Alfie Fawell fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kestelburn Village's protests and gave Alfie Fawell a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Alfie Fawell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Kestelburn Village defense, Robert Thompson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Craig Oates. The Kestelburn Village fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Craig Oates should have stopped the shot. Greg Albright blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Craig Oates having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Greg Albright took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Craig Oates to make any attempt to save it. The throw-in from Vito Benítez in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Kestelburn Village's John Horner. 97 minutes into the match, Derby County F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rodney Sheldon came free, but Anton Davids reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
