Spectators: 7984 (Terracing: 5989, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Patrick Hughes kicked off to start the match. After 9 played minutes Westerham got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Chandler. A collision led to Westerham getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ray Butler hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Watson in the 13th minute of play forced FC Metal's goalkeeper Ruben Guest to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Tony Heremans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Metal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerham the free kick. Ruben Guest showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Backhouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Sebastian Watson struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ruben Guest didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westerham. Damion Crouch hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ray Butler charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ray Butler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Metal booed when Westerham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ray Butler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Westerham's Olly Butt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Westerham from getting a goal against them. Rodney Rocastle was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Alan Backhouse scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Guest, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Westerham were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richie Kennedy made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Gary Brown managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Metal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gary Brown was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th match minute, FC Metal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Van De Wyngaert to maneuver through the defense. Rodney Rocastle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gary Brown might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olly Butt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gary Brown ran back to his position shaking his head. Patrick Hughes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Ruben Guest made a huge save. In the 72nd minute, Richie Kennedy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Damion Crouch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olly Butt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richie Kennedy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olly Butt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gary Brown, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Alan Backhouse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ruben Guest made a huge save. Ray Butler kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Ruben Guest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damion Crouch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Westerham walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
