Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lloyd Laverick got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th match minute, Canterbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Marsden to maneuver through the defense. Martyn English was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Edward Airton. The supporters of Dream Team booed when Canterbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Marsden didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Canterbury's Martyn English got control of the ball when Dale Frost tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute Lloyd Laverick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn English saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Canterbury got a freekick which was hit by Philip Pitman. 20 minutes into the match, Ruben Mellon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Liam Holdroyd. Dream Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruben Mellon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 23rd minute of the match, Dale Frost got a very nice opportunity to score, but Martyn English was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Rowan Gower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Frost could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Martyn English made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, Dream Team's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Woolcock came free, but Liam Holdroyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dale Frost got free with Martyn English in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Canterbury's zone, Dale Frost stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martyn English came out of the goal and Dale Frost tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Canterbury's Martyn English played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Laverick in the 40th minute of play. Martyn English took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lloyd Laverick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Dale Frost hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liam Holdroyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Woolcock in the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Canterbury fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Canterbury's Ruben Mellon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Martyn English took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Frost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lloyd Laverick in the 68th minute of play forced Canterbury's goalkeeper Martyn English to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Canterbury's Ruben Mellon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Liam Holdroyd made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Woolcock in the 79th minute of play forced Dream Team's goalkeeper Liam Holdroyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Ryan Woolcock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canterbury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Lloyd Laverick took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martyn English. Martyn English dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The audience was convinced that Ryan Woolcock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Liam Holdroyd was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. After having played for 89 minutes, Ryan Woolcock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canterbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Woolcock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alf Basham kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Dale Frost managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dream Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Dale Frost was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martyn English breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dale Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Martyn English tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Canterbury getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Carl Appleton hit a great ball. Martyn English made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Laverick in the 96th minute of play. Canterbury played a much better game than Dream Team and deserved their victory. The Dream Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
