Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Denzil Mulford took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Denzil Mulford came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Skelmersdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denzil Mulford couldn't finish the play. 5 minutes into the game, Blair Scholes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. George Green was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Drew Llyod during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, Drew Llyod hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fraser Westlake took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Steven Haugue. Skelmersdale's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Runcorn's George Green got control of the ball when Joe Marriott tried to sneak it across the goal line. George Green made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blair Scholes in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Blair Scholes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mattias McCartney fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Runcorn's protests and gave Mattias McCartney a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Mattias McCartney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denzil Mulford, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. George Green showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denzil Mulford in the 25th minute of the match. Steven Haugue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fraser Westlake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Runcorn's George Green got control of the ball when Blair Scholes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joe Marriott's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but George Green firmly grabbed it by the left post. 39 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goalkeeper George Green had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blair Scholes. George Green made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Blair Scholes sent off a good shot on target. Steven Haugue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Draper in the 42nd minute of play. George Green showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blair Scholes, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The Skelmersdale fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steven Haugue should have stopped the shot. Joe Marriott's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Green read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Runcorn's George Green played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Marriott in the 68th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Skelmersdale's Joe Marriott nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Green made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Marriott in the 73rd minute of play forced Runcorn's goalkeeper George Green to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Blair Scholes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joe Marriott in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg George Green saved Runcorn from getting behind. George Green didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blair Scholes went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Blair Scholes made a precise shot to the right of George Green. Runcorn's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. George Green showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Marriott in the 85th minute of the match. George Green showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Marriott, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blair Scholes in the 92nd minute of play forced Runcorn's goalkeeper George Green to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Skelmersdale had played much better football throughout.
