Runcorn's George Green proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Runcorn from getting a goal against them. Garth Mead showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Draper, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ollie Letheren's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but George Green firmly grabbed it by the left post. Duncan Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garth Mead having to interfere. Garth Mead showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dane Beaver, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 0-2 became the score in the 27th minute when Dane Beaver elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Weybridge's Trey Almond got a free kick in the 35th minute. Dane Beaver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philip Broadbent during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Runcorn were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Weybridge getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Jay Kitchen hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Syd Townsend during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Runcorn booed when Weybridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Syd Townsend didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garth Mead acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 55th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Duncan Draper. With a little luck, Weybridge's Garth Mead got control of the ball when Dane Beaver tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 75 played minutes Runcorn got a freekick which was hit by Seth Haywood. Syd Townsend fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Green having to interfere. Garth Mead made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fraser Westlake in the 85th minute of play. Billy Flintoff charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy Flintoff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 94 minutes into the game, Ollie Letheren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. George Green was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
