Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Chaz Murtagh kicked off to start the match. After 4 played minutes Blofield's Jim Webster stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Rowan Savage stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Farnborough of the goal. Rowan Savage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chaz Murtagh in the 6th minute of play. After 8th play minutes Chaz Murtagh shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Rowan Savage and just under the crossbar into goal. Blofield's Doug Haugue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winnie Harrison in the 17th minute of play. Vance Smikle hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Tod Wardill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Haugue having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Chaz Murtagh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rowan Savage was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. 25 minutes into the game, Blofield's Jake Kendall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rowan Savage made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Tod Wardill charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tod Wardill the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tod Wardill kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chaz Murtagh in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rowan Savage prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geoff Ansell's late challenge caught a Blofield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geoff Ansell helped the player get up and apologised. Farnborough's Rowan Savage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Webster in the 42nd minute of play. Doug Haugue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winnie Harrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Winnie Harrison charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Winnie Harrison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Winnie Harrison kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tod Wardill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jim Webster left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blofield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 55th minute, Denny Holmes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Doug Haugue. The goal made the score 3-1. Jake Kendall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ruben Knight kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Rowan Savage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Kendall in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Blofield were awarded a corner. Chaz Murtagh went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Blofield's Dion Nicholls to fire away a dangerous shot which Rowan Savage despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Farnborough's zone, Jim Webster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rowan Savage came out of the goal and Jim Webster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chaz Murtagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Chaz Murtagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 minutes of play Farnborough's Geoff Ansell was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Blofield booed when Farnborough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoff Ansell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denny Holmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Haugue having to interfere. In the 95th minute Jake Kendall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rowan Savage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jake Kendall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that Blofield were the better team. Blofield's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
