After 6 minutes, Sean Howden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Big B United and the Woolton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th minute, Sean Howden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10thth minute of the game Andre Cavanagh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Big B United's Andre Ellerton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Quentin Bush fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Big B United's protests and gave Quentin Bush a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Woolton booed when Big B United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Bush didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Andre Cavanagh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Big B United getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Ryan Lambert hit a great ball. Andre Cavanagh's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Andre Ellerton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Leroy Floyd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ron Sharpe's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Ron Sharpe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leroy Floyd. Woolton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ron Sharpe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 31st minute, Owen Wilberforce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Woolton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With his leg Andre Ellerton managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Woolton's Owen Wilberforce fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Woolton's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nick Featherstone was slow to take the kick. During this time Big B United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Nick Featherstone almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Woolton's Leroy Floyd did a great save. Andre Cavanagh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Andre Ellerton made a huge save. In the 43rd minute, Owen Cain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Lance MacDonald sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andre Ellerton skillfully saved the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Ron Sharpe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leroy Floyd. Woolton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ron Sharpe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andre Cavanagh was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Big B United's Leroy Floyd threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rob Draper, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Owen Wilberforce in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andre Ellerton saved Big B United from getting behind. Leroy Floyd made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Sean Howden sent off a good shot on target. Leroy Floyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Big B United's Andre Ellerton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Cavanagh in the 62nd minute of play. Zaq Vaughan hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 68 minutes, Andre Cavanagh made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Big B United's Andre Ellerton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Andre Ellerton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owen Wilberforce in the 72nd minute of the match. Christian Burns hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Woolton's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Draper came free, but Leroy Floyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Andre Cavanagh notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Big B United's Andre Ellerton. Andre Ellerton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
