Knights of the Spring's Anthony Reid got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Micheal Goodman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Andre Ellerton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Biernat scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andre Ellerton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Micheal Goodman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Dom Halliday had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andre Ellerton. Big B United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dom Halliday was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Micheal Goodman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knights of the Spring's supporters rose to their feet, but Micheal Goodman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andre Ellerton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ron Sharpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Rob Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Russ Webster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Howden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ron Sharpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rob Draper in the 34th minute of play forced Knights of the Spring's goalkeeper Russ Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Russ Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rob Draper in the 38th minute of the match. Ron Sharpe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Russ Webster firmly grabbed it by the left post. With 44 minutes on the clock, Zaq Vaughan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Andre Ellerton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthony Reid in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Knights of the Spring booed when Big B United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Draper didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Sean Howden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dom Halliday fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Ellerton having to interfere. After some careless play in the Knights of the Spring defense, Ron Sharpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Russ Webster. The Knights of the Spring fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Russ Webster should have stopped the shot. After 69 minutes, Micheal Goodman made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Big B United's Andre Ellerton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 73 played minutes Knights of the Spring got a freekick which was hit by Micheal Goodman. Sean Howden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russ Webster having to interfere. Edward Biernat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Andre Ellerton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Knights of the Spring's Dom Halliday dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Anthony Reid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Ellerton having to interfere. Big B United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Dom Halliday scored to the left of an out of position Andre Ellerton, making the score, 1-6. The supporters of Knights of the Spring booed when Big B United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Howden didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Big B United's goal looked a bit too open when Dom Halliday came free, but Andre Ellerton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Knights of the Spring's Dom Halliday got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dom Halliday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Andre Ellerton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Knights of the Spring's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
