George Green was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jim Webster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. George Green tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Chaz Murtagh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Blofield's goalkeeper Doug Haugue had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Seth Haywood. George Green showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Webster in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Blofield's Chaz Murtagh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Green made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Jim Webster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Webster came free, but George Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goal looked a bit too open when Chaz Murtagh came free, but George Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Green having to interfere. George Green didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chaz Murtagh went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chaz Murtagh made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Blofield's George Green threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dion Nicholls, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With his leg George Green managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Blofield's Jim Webster fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Runcorn's George Green played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chaz Murtagh in the 58th minute of play. When Fraser Westlake fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Runcorn's protests and gave Fraser Westlake a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Runcorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fraser Westlake to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Runcorn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chaz Murtagh was slow to take the kick. During this time Blofield's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Chaz Murtagh got away a dangerous shot. Despite this George Green quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jim Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Green having to interfere. With a little luck, Runcorn's George Green got control of the ball when Jim Webster tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goalkeeper George Green had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jim Webster. Jim Webster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but George Green made a huge save. George Green showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chaz Murtagh, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. George Green took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Webster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 minutes, Jim Webster made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Runcorn's George Green tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 92 minutes in the game, Chaz Murtagh dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 95th minute, Blofield's Chaz Murtagh dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. The Runcorn fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Blofield were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
