Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dom Halliday got the match started through his kick off. Skelmersdale's Steven Haugue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dom Halliday in the 6th minute of play. Trev Illingworth hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Russ Webster made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joe Marriott in the 12th minute. Russ Webster didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Skelmersdale's Joe Marriott shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Russ Webster came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Skelmersdale's Blair Scholes. But to his dismay, Blair Scholes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Joe Marriott kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 25thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Knights of the Spring's keeper Russ Webster was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Russ Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denzil Mulford in the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Blair Scholes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skelmersdale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 30 minutes, Anthony Reid mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knights of the Spring and the Skelmersdale players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Knights of the Spring's Anthony Reid got a free kick in the 31st minute. 31 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale's Denzil Mulford broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Russ Webster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denzil Mulford, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute Lewis Beerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven Haugue saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Knights of the Spring's goal looked a bit too open when Blair Scholes came free, but Russ Webster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Russ Webster made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Blair Scholes sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 42 in the game by Joe Marriott from a close distance when the talented Russ Webster managed to make a qualified save. Knights of the Spring's players were relieved. In the 44th minute Denzil Mulford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joe Marriott made a kick off. After some careless play in the Knights of the Spring defense, Joe Marriott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Russ Webster. The Knights of the Spring fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Russ Webster should have stopped the shot. Russ Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Marriott in the 55th minute of play. Lewis Beerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Steven Haugue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Marriott in the 59th minute of play forced Knights of the Spring's goalkeeper Russ Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Drew Llyod hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Joe Marriott notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Knights of the Spring's Russ Webster. Russ Webster was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Russ Webster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drew Llyod, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Russ Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Marriott in the 77th minute of play. Russ Webster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Marriott, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Joe Marriott took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Russ Webster. Russ Webster dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. In the 87th minute Joe Marriott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Russ Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blair Scholes in the 88th minute of play. After 91st play minutes Joe Marriott shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Russ Webster and just under the crossbar into goal.
