The supporters of Viking Rovers booed when Chemik Pustkow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyler Merchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Daryl Robinson fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chemik Pustkow's protests and gave Daryl Robinson a yellow card for diving instead. Daryl Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Chemik Pustkow's Jonathan Abbotts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Chemik Pustkow from getting a goal against them. Ian Pointon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Abbotts having to interfere. Daryl Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Benjamin Caton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viking Rovers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Caton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phil Guest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Moorhouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Benjamin Caton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Abbotts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Caton in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Daryl Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Viking Rovers's Ralf Silk broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Benjamin Caton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Abbotts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Chemik Pustkow getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Fitz Watson hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Ronnie Metcalfe notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Viking Rovers's Phil Guest. Phil Guest was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Benjamin Caton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Frankie Moorhouse struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Phil Guest didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chemik Pustkow. Phil Guest made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frankie Moorhouse in the 74th minute. Viking Rovers's Phil Guest proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Viking Rovers from getting a goal against them. In the 79th match minute, Viking Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Jewson to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frankie Moorhouse in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phil Guest prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Viking Rovers's Sean Jewson got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Moorhouse in the 91st minute of play forced Viking Rovers's goalkeeper Phil Guest to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Viking Rovers's zone, Ronnie Metcalfe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Guest came out of the goal and Ronnie Metcalfe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the game, Wesley Nelson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chemik Pustkow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Viking Rovers the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Chemik Pustkow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Nelson to maneuver through the defense. The Viking Rovers manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Chemik Pustkow to win.
