Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ron Clayton made the kick off which started today's match. Bryan Metcalf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Joseph Jump tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 4thth minute of the game Lee Hazell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shoreham by Sea's Joseph Jump was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Spike Earnshaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Joseph Jump tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Jump made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Mitchell-King in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Tod Rowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 minutes, Andy Mitchell-King mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Houghton Regis and the Shoreham by Sea players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes Houghton Regis got a freekick which was hit by Andy Mitchell-King. Spike Postolan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Owen Barfield's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Houghton Regis's Spike Earnshaw nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joseph Jump made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Houghton Regis's goalkeeper Spike Postolan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geoff Beck. In the 35th minute, Bryan Metcalf ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joseph Jump was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Shoreham by Sea's Joseph Jump played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Mitchell-King in the 39th minute of play. Spike Postolan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ron Clayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Mitchell-King in the 48th minute of play forced Shoreham by Sea's goalkeeper Joseph Jump to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Houghton Regis were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Spike Earnshaw made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Earnshaw in the 55th minute of play forced Shoreham by Sea's goalkeeper Joseph Jump to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Shoreham by Sea's goalkeeper Joseph Jump had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Hazell. Joseph Jump didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lee Hazell went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Earnshaw in the 64th minute of play forced Shoreham by Sea's goalkeeper Joseph Jump to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joseph Jump made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Andy Mitchell-King sent off a good shot on target. Spike Earnshaw scored 0-4 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Jump, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute Bryan Metcalf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Jump saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Spike Earnshaw in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joseph Jump saved Shoreham by Sea from getting behind. Owen Barfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Spike Postolan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Shoreham by Sea booed when Houghton Regis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Metcalf didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Earnshaw in the 79th minute of play forced Shoreham by Sea's goalkeeper Joseph Jump to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tod Batty kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Joseph Jump made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Metcalf in the 90th minute of play. Lee Hazell scored 0-5 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Jump, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joseph Jump was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tom Radcliffe. The Houghton Regis supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Houghton Regis would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
